Facilities Caretaker

The City of Marion KS is accepting applications for the position of Facilities Caretaker. This position involves the maintenance and care of the Community Center, City Hall, City Parks, Police Department and Marion City Library. Responsibilities include basic cleaning and upkeep of these facilities.

A high school diploma or GED is required. This is a part-time position paying $8.25 per hour. Schedule to be 15 hours per week in the winter and fall, and 25 hours per week in the spring and summer.

Director of Economic Development & Tourism

The City of Marion KS is accepting applications for the position of Director of Economic Development & Tourism. This position serves as a liaison for the City of Marion and Regional Business Community. Responsibilities include implementing an Economic Development Plan for the City of Marion, including a strategic plan; identifying goals and objectives and developing programs to improve areas of opportunity to include;

Facilitating business recruitment, job development, and business retention;

Developing marketing strategies designed to promote the City of Marion as a business designation;

Conducting research and providing information services on matters of property-tax issues, real estate trends, incentive grants, negotiations and administration of loan packaging options;

Providing business analysis & restructuring support in a professional Business 2 Business format, risk management, and similar administrative services.

A bachelor degree or related experience is required. Special consideration will be given to candidates who have 2 + years experience in this field. Salary DOQ.

Electrical Lineman

Under the supervision of the Electric Department Supervisor, the Lineman is a non-exempt position under FLSA. This position is responsible for the maintenance, repair and/or construction of the City’s overhead and underground electrical distribution system, throughout the distribution system, to each transformer, to the customer’s point of hookup. This position is also responsible for the maintenance of the City’s secondary system, including buildings, waster wells, sewer pumps, and other electrical needs. This employee should possess a strong technical and mechanical aptitude, and excellent communications and public relation skills.
